Omitting WPAD entries from your OpenBSD httpd logs.

In an environment with Windows machines, you may find loads of entries in your access.log for WPAD.DAT, a file for configuring the Windows proxy settings. These entries get pretty annoying and disabling auto proxy detection doesn’t seem to stop this behaviour.

Fortunately there’s a simple way to “not log” these request. In your /etc/httpd.conf just set a “location” and set `no log` like this:

location "/wpad.dat" { no log }
